A passenger in a Honda Civic was killed around noon on Friday, September 25, 2026, when the car and a big rig pulling two end-dump trailers collided on Mountain House Road north of West Grant Line Road, near the San Joaquin County line. CHP Dublin is asking witnesses to come forward.

The California Highway Patrol's Dublin Area office said the crash happened just after noon on Friday, September 25, 2026, on Mountain House Road north of West Grant Line Road, near the San Joaquin County line. A white 2014 Freightliner Cascadia tractor pulling two end-dump trailers was heading south, and a tan 2004 Honda Civic was heading north.
According to the CHP, "for an unknown reason, a broadside crash occurred within the southbound lane of traffic." The Honda was badly damaged, and a passenger in the car died from their injuries. The passenger's name had not been released.
Both drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, and the CHP said alcohol was not believed to be a factor. KRON4 and Pleasanton Weekly reported on the crash.

Investigators are asking anyone who saw the crash or what happened just before it to call the CHP Dublin Area office at 925-828-0466 and ask for Officer Hartman or Officer Purl.
